La Catrina Cocktails & Rock

A rock bar specialising in cocktails, La Catrina Cocktails & Rock is the perfect place for a night out in Valencia. Nestled in the heart of the trendy Ruzafa district, the bar features a pool table, a table football table and a darts board. It is also home to a number of international events, including a language exchange, pub quiz and pool tournament.

Portland Ale House

An American bar and restaurant specialising in mouth-watering burgers, stacks of nachos and home-brewed craft beer, Portland Ale House stands out even amongst the many restaurants of the hip Canovas neighbourhood.

The bar hosts a number of events, including language exchanges, a pub quiz and live music. It’s also a great place to watch sports on television, such as La Liga or Premier League football matches.

Cuatro Monos

Situated on the charming Calle Reina Doña María in Ruzafa, Cuatro Monos is an excellent choice for Belgian beers, delicious cocktails and handmade foccacia sandwiches. They also show live sport, such as the World Cup and Champions League.

Is Valencia expensive to live in?

Housing prices in Valencia have been rising steadily in recent years, but there are still some bargains to be found! In general, apartments are much cheaper to buy or rent than houses.

Is Valencia safe?

Valencia is very safe to live in and visit. Violent crime is rare, but petty theft can occur in tourist areas. Keep an eye on your belongings and enjoy the sun!

Do many people speak English in Valencia?

The two official languages of Valencia are Valencian and Castellano. Valencia is a large, modern city and many people speak English here as well.

Where do expats live in Valencia?

Popular districts for English-speaking expats include Ruzafa, El Carmen and Cabanyal. However, there are many foreigners scattered around the city, and lots of incredible neighbourhoods to discover!

Does it get cold in Valencia?

The climate in Valencia is fantastic. Summers are hot, but not unbearable. Spring and Autumn are very warm, and even during winter the temperature can reach 20 degrees Celsius in the afternoons.
